Best for ages 2 to 6
A construction party needs no character at all, which makes it one of the easiest themes to pull together: safety yellow, cone orange and asphalt black, with hard hats for every guest at the gate.
Cover the table in a road-print cloth and park toy trucks down the middle. A sandpit or a tub of dried beans becomes the dig zone, and a cake covered in crushed cookie “dirt” with a digger on top is the cake every builder wants.

Dig and dump
Dig the load, drive it to the dump site and empty it. Most loads in two minutes wins.
You need: A sandpit or tub of dried beans, toy diggers and trucks

You need: Traffic cones or cups, push-along trucks

Teams build the tallest tower they can before the whistle.
You need: Cardboard bricks or blocks
